Urgent Warning to American Christians:
A Ten
Point Plan for regaining our freedom

April 11, 2010 http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=414101215575

America is at a historic crossroads either we return to God’s foundation for freedom or we descent into Marxism. All across America freedom loving people are coming together in these Tea Party meetings to protest their outrage with our governmental leaders. People that have studied history know that America is moving with breakneck speed toward totalitarianism. Many people know that we are losing our freedoms however they do not know why we have lost them or how to regain them. There have been many common solutions to the problem that have been offered such as we need to audit the Feds and we must make our leaders return to a constitutional republic. And the states must regain their sovereignty by exercising their tenth amendment right. All of these ideas are good however none of them addresses the reason why we are in the worst time in American history when reference to loosing our freedoms and the only biblical solution to regain our freedom. Consequently, that is the express purpose of this message from God’s Word.

Pro 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people.

Purpose: To teach us from God’s Word how we got ourselves into such spiritual and economic evil in America and the solution to come out from under God’s judgment and once again understand that only righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.

A Ten Point Plan for regaining our Freedom

First of all we need to understand that America is under God’s judgment because the church has sinned against God by disobeying God’s commands to be the salt and light to the world in righteousness.

Mat 5:13  “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

Mat 5:14  “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Mat 6:33  But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

Lev 26:14 ‘But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments,

Lev 26:15  and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant,

Lev 26:16  I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

Lev 26:17  I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you.

2Co 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?

1Jn 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1. We must submit to the authority of God’s Word Alone over every aspect of our lives. The Word of God Alone is the source to produce Christ righteousness in our lives to preserve our nation’s freedom.

As wonderful as our Constitution is it cannot produce righteousness in the minds of  Christians. Moreover, it is not an infallible, inerrant document like the Word of God. Therefore in the primary sense the clarion call is not a call back to the Constitution but a call for Christians to return to the Word of God as the authority over every area of their lives. The Constitution cannot work unless the Word of God is its foundation.

2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

2Ti 3:17  that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Isa 5:13 Therefore my people have gone into captivity, Because they have no knowledge; Their honorable men are famished, And their multitude dried up with thirst.

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” John Adams

James A. Garfield, July 1877

“Now more than ever the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave, and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the national legislature.”

Joh 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

The purpose of the government is to punish evil and protect what is good not to teach righteousness. There can be no freedom apart from truth and its fruit of righteousness.

The Word of God is the only place that tells me that I am a slave to righteousness.

Rom 6:17  But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.

Rom 6:18  And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

Rom 6:19  I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.

Rom 6:20  For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.

Righteousness alone results in peace. Isa 32:17 The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.

Isa 32:18  My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places,

2. We must confess our sins. I must confess my greed, my pride and my lust.

Dan 9:3  Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.

Dan 9:4  And I prayed to the LORD my God, and made confession, and said, “O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments,

Dan 9:5  we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments.

Dan 9:6  Neither have we heeded Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings and our princes, to our fathers and all the people of the land.

I bought into the so called American dream. There are four forms of government:

(1) Self-government

(2) Family government

(3) Church government

(4) Civil government.

And Christ righteousness must rule supreme over each.

2Ch 7:14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

1Jn 1:8  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1Jn 1:10  If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. My sin brings me into slavery to sin. I make it my master.

Joh 8:34  Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.

3. We must begin to live a life of true repentance. Repent means a change of mind.

Hos 14:1 O Israel, return to the LORD your God, For you have stumbled because of your iniquity;

Hos 14:2  Take words with you, And return to the LORD. Say to Him, “Take away all iniquity; Receive us graciously, For we will offer the sacrifices of our lips.

Psa 34:18 The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

Psa 51:17  The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise.

Luk 1:74 To grant us that we, Being delivered from the hand of our enemies, Might serve Him without fear,

Luk 1:75  In holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.

4. Christian fathers must lead their families in truth and by example.

Deu 6:6  “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.

Deu 6:7  You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

Deu 6:8  You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.

Deu 6:9  You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Eph 6:4  And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

Mal 4:6 And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.

5. You must regularly attend and support a Bible believing church.

Heb 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Jer 23:1 “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture!” says the LORD.

Jer 23:2  Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel against the shepherds who feed My people: “You have scattered My flock, driven them away, and not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for the evil of your doings,” says the LORD.  We have a pulpit problem not a political problem.

6. You must fellowship with likeminded, godly, Bible believing Christians to help you live a righteous and holy life.

1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Eph 4:11  And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,

Eph 4:12  for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,

Eph 4:13  till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

Eph 4:14  that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,

Eph 4:15  but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—

Eph 4:16  from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

Jas 5:16  Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Pro 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

Psa 141:5 Let the righteous strike me; It shall be a kindness. And let him rebuke me; It shall be as excellent oil; Let my head not refuse it. For still my prayer is against the deeds of the wicked.

7. We must teach our Christian heritage to our families.

Read to your family David Barton’s book the Original Intent and Dr. John Robbins book   Freedom and Capitalism. Also read to them the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Federalist Papers and discuss why we have been a free nation.

Deu 8:11  “Beware that you do not forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today,

Deu 8:12  lest—when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them;

Deu 8:13  and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied;

Deu 8:14  when your heart is lifted up, and you forget the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

Deu 8:15  who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land where there was no water; who brought water for you out of the flinty rock;

Deu 8:16  who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do you good in the end—

Deu 8:17  then you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.’

Deu 8:18 “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

Deu 8:19  Then it shall be, if you by any means forget the LORD your God, and follow other gods, and serve them and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish.

Deu 8:20  As the nations which the LORD destroys before you, so you shall perish, because you would not be obedient to the voice of the LORD your God.

8. Become a witness for Christ.

Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

Mat 28:19  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Mat 28:20  teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

9. Pray for our leaders and share the gospel with them.

1Ti 2:1  Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,

1Ti 2:2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

10. Give hope to our Christian friends.  Our hope for perfect freedom is not for America to return to its Christian foundation but for the return of the King of Righteousness to rule and reign in righteousness over the whole earth.

Psa 89:14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face.

Dan 7:27 Then the kingdom and dominion, And the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, Shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And all dominions shall serve and obey Him.’

Rev 11:15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” Isa 9:6  For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isa 9:7  Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

Hos 14:1 O Israel, return to the LORD your God, For you have stumbled because of your iniquity;

Eph 4:13  till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

Deu 8:12  lest—when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them;

Deu 8:13  and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied;

Deu 8:14  when your heart is lifted up, and you forget the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

Deu 8:15  who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land where there was no water; who brought water for you out of the flinty rock;

Urgent Warning to American Christians:

Mat 6:33  But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

Hos 14:1 O Israel, return to the LORD your God, For you have stumbled because of your iniquity;

Eph 4:13  till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

Deu 8:12  lest—when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them;

Deu 8:13  and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied;

Deu 8:14  when your heart is lifted up, and you forget the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

Deu 8:15  who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land where there was no water; who brought water for you out of the flinty rock;

Urgent Warning to American Christians: A Ten Point Plan for regaining our freedom

Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;
