Where do you think the cults get the majority of their members?

Some people might think that the bulk of their membership come from the un-churched masses. However, that is not the case. The cults get their people from members of mainline orthodox Christian churches. The cults know that Trinitarian churches are fertile soil for their proselytizing because the pastors in these churches have not taught their members the Biblical doctrine of the Holy Trinity.

Consequently, the people in these orthodox churches have no discernment they do not know that the One God of the Bible is Triune in nature. And that means that the One God of Scripture eternally exist in Three Persons.

Our Lord exposed these false shepherds in the gospel of Mark:

Mar 7:6 He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR FROM ME.

In order to worship the Triune God of Scripture we must worship Him in the Spirit and in the truth. In other words, we must worship Him exactly according to how He has revealed Himself in Scripture.

Joh 4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

And we know that according to Scripture He has revealed Himself as One God eternally, simultaneously, existing in three distinct Persons.

1Jn 5:7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.

If we worship God in any other way than how He has revealed Himself then we are calling God a liar and blaspheming His Word concerning His Triune nature.

Hence, if a person worships any god other than the Triune God of Scripture then they are worshiping a false god and they are not Christians but heretical, blaspheming pagans.

2Jn 1:9 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.

2Jn 1:10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him;

2Jn 1:11 for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.

What is one of the greatest weaknesses in the church today?

Christians are not being taught the Triune nature of God and how the significance of this doctrine relates to every area of their Christian life. Moreover, Christians are without any knowledge of how Trinitarianism is the basis for the unity, strength, and defense of Christ Church. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance for Christians to learn that every false doctrine that the church has had to fight against from the very beginning of the first century has come from an unscriptural understanding of the Triune God.

Purpose: To learn from Scripture how the doctrine of all three eternal, distinct Persons of the Holy Trinity are significant to a Christians growth and glorifying God in every area of their life.

What were we made for? To know the true God.

Col 1:10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

What aim should we set ourselves in life? To know the true God.

Hos 6:3 Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD.

What is the eternal life that Jesus Christ gives? Knowledge of the true God.

Joh 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

What is the best thing in life? Knowledge of the true God.

Hos 6:6 For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

What in man gives God most pleasure? Knowledge of Himself

Jer 9:23 Thus says the LORD: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;

Jer 9:24 But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the LORD.

“What makes life worth while is having a big enough objective, something which catches our imagination and lays hold of our allegiance; and this the Christian has, in a way that no other man has. For what higher, more exalted, and more compelling goal can there be than to know God?”

What part did each eternal Person of the Trinity have in providing your salvation?

The soteriological Trinity. Three Divine Persons saved you.

The Fathers’ role as the First Person of the Trinity in your salvation.

The Sovereign/Father.

The Father elected you to be His child in eternity past, without cause or cost in you. The Father planned your salvation. His plan is an eternal plan. In other words, the plan never began. You have always been an object of His mercy, grace and love. And this plan had nothing to do with any foreseen works or faith in you. It is called sovereign grace.

Joh 6:37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.

Eph 1:4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

Col 3:12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;

2Th 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth,

2Ti 1:9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,

Rom 9:23 and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory,

Mat 25:33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.

Mat 25:34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

The SON:

The Sons’ role as the Second Person of the Trinity in your salvation.

The Son purchased your salvation. The Son as the Second Person of the Trinity propitiated the wrath of the First Person of the Trinity—the Father. Therefore, the Son as a different Person from the Father paid in full your sin debt.

The Savior/Son.

Eph 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.

Eph 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. Mat 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?”

Christ was crying out to the First Person of the Trinity- His Father who was a different Person from Himself. This is not the human Jesus crying out to His divine Self. Christ said, “ Why have You( His Father) Forsaken Me?”( The eternal Son a different Person from His Father) Christ was under the wrath of His Father.

Rev 1:5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,

Rev 1:6 and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him beglory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1Pe 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,

Joh 6:38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

Joh 6:39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.

Joh 6:40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Mat 1:21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”

Joh 6:44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:65 And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.”

Joh 10:11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

Joh 10:12 But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them.

Joh 10:13 The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep.

Joh 10:14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.

Joh 10:15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.

Joh 10:24 Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, “How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.”

Joh 10:25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me.

Joh 10:26 But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you.

Joh 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

Joh 10:28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

Joh 10:29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

Joh 10:30 I and My Father are one.”

Joh 10:31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him.

Joh 10:32 Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?”

Joh 10:33 The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.”

Joh 17:9 “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours.

Joh 17:1 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said:“Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You,

Joh 17:2 as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.

Joh 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Joh 17:4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.

Joh 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

Joh 17:6 “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.

The Holy Spirits’ role as the Third Person of the Holy Trinity in your salvation.

The Holy Spirit produced your salvation. The Sanctifier/Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit as a different, eternal Person from the eternal Person of God the Father and the eternal Person of God the Son brought eternal life to the elect of the Father. These elect as we have seen are also called the sheep. And they are the people for whom the Son died.

Heb 9:14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

The Holy Spirit regenerated you. He gave you the life of Christ which is eternal life.

Tit 3:5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Joh 3:7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’

Joh 3:8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

Joh 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

Psa 65:4 Blessed is the man You choose, And cause to approach You, That he may dwell in Your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Of Your holy temple.

Rom 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Rom 8:30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

Joh 5:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

Eph 2:1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,

Php 1:29 For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,

2Th 3:2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.

Act 16:14 Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul.

Joh 16:8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

Joh 16:9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me;

Joh 16:10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;

Joh 16:11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

1Co 2:14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

2Th 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth,

1Pe 1:2 elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

The Sovereignty of God the Holy Spirit in Salvation by Arthur W. Pink:

“And now to sum up, We have sought to show the perfect consistency of God’s ways: that each Person in the Godhead acts in sympathy and harmony with the Others. God the Father elected certain ones to salvation, God the Son died for the elect, and God the Spirit quickens the elect. Well may we sing:”“’Praise God from whom all blessings flow,

Praise Him all creatures here below,
Praise Him above ye heavenly host,
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.”

The Sovereignty of God the Holy Spirit in Salvation by Arthur W. Pink

The gospel is Trinitarian in nature because the Three Persons of the eternal Holy Trinity cooperate in perfect salvific harmony to accomplish our eternal salvation. Any other gospel is not the gospel and is to be condemned as damnable heresy. Galatians 1:6-9

2Co 13:14The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ,
and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
