Heresy Warning: T.D. Jakes

How to refute the heresy of T.D. Jakes

Sermon on – 5/9/10 – Click here for full audio

America is under attack. Contrary to popular opinion, the greatest threat is not political or an outside foreign enemy. Our greatest threat comes from the pulpits of American heretical pastors. The apostle Paul gave us a warning two thousand years ago concerning where our enemies would come from.

Act 20:29 For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.

Act 20:30 Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.

Act 20:31 Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.

A savage wolf is among us and he occupies a pulpit in one of the largest churches in America called the Potters House and his name is T.D. Jakes. We are commanded by Scripture to contend for the faith and expose false teaching so that the church remains true to worshiping the one God of Scripture in truth and spirit and does not worship false gods.

Purpose: To learn from Scripture how to refute the heresy of T.D. Jakes concerning his denial of the preexistence of the eternal Son of God the Lord Jesus Christ the second Person of the Holy trinity.

A Guide for Young Christians

A Guide for Young Christians

John W. Robbins

When God saves us sinners, he causes us to believe certain propositions about himself and about ourselves—ideas that we formerly thought were not true. In an instant, God resurrects us from the spiritual death of unbelief and makes us understand and believe the truth about both Jesus Christ and ourselves. Scripture refers to this event by using several figures of speech: being born again, being born from above, enlightening the mind, being resurrected from the dead, and giving us a heart of flesh for our heart of stone. What this figurative language literally means (and if you do not know what figurative language literally means, you do not know what it means) is that God affects our minds directly, causing us to accept as true, ideas we formerly thought were not true. He gives truth—figuratively called “light” in Scripture—directly to our minds.

How to Recognize a Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing

4/24/10 Sermon

We are living in the darkest days that America has ever experienced based on the fact that truth has fallen in the streets. The prophet Isaiah gives us a picture of the spiritual condition of America.

Isa 59:14 Justice is turned back, And righteousness stands afar off; For truth is fallen in the street, And equity cannot enter.

Isa 59:15 So truth fails, And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. Then the LORD saw it, and it displeased Him That there was no justice.

Edmund Burke stated that, All that’s necessary for the forces of evil to win in the world is for enough good men to do nothing.

Every Christian is commanded to expose false teaching so that we defend the truth of Scripture and protect the church from false shepherds.

Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

Eph 5:12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.

Eph 5:13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.

Eph 5:14 Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”

There are many false shepherds today leading millions of people away from the truth.

One of the greatest things that you can do for your family is to learn how to recognize a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Before you ever set foot into a church you should always read their statement of faith to see if they are teaching historical, Biblical, orthodox Christianity or historical heresy.

Purpose: To learn from Scripture how to recognize a wolf in sheep’s clothing by learning their view of the Trinity.

One God and Three Persons

One God and Three Persons:
Believe it or goto Hell

Sermon Online – 5/2/10

There is nothing more basic to Christianity than the doctrine of the Holy trinity.

If you reject the Scriptural doctrine of the trinity then you are not a Christian and are in danger of burning in hell for all of eternity. Hence, that is why I chose the title of the sermon. Moreover, to deny the Biblical doctrine of the trinity is to blaspheme the very nature of God and to supplant His cogent, clear revelation about His tri-personal Being with deceptive, damnable, man-made imaginations about God. More specifically, to reject the trinity is to reject the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. And if Christ is not God Almighty from all of eternity as a distinct Person from God the Father then there can be no salvation for anyone.

Why? It is because the Scripture unequivocally states that the God/Man is the only mediator between God the Father and man.

1Ti 2:5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

Consequently, it is of the upmost importance that Christians be able to define and defend this touchstone doctrine of Christianity. Today tens of thousands of people are being led astray by false preachers who deny the doctrine of the trinity. Christians that are ignorant of the Scriptures concerning the doctrine of the trinity cannot recognize a false statement about the trinity because they have never learned what the Scripture truly says about this fundamental doctrine.

False Shepherds: A Clear and Present Danger

False Shepherds: A Clear and Present Danger

We said last week that we know that we are under God’s judgment in America because God has turned us over to wicked politicians. Similarly, we also know that we are under God’s judgment because God has turned the nation over to wicked pastors. We have a far greater problem than a political problem in America as grave as that problem is, we have a pulpit problem. False shepherds are leading the sheep to the slaughter. Israel went into captivity because the shepherds stopped feeding God’s people the truth.

Isa 5:13 Therefore my people have gone into captivity, Because they have no knowledge; Their honorable men are famished, And their multitude dried up with thirst.

Jer 23:1 “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture!” says the LORD.

Jer 23:2 Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel against the shepherds who feed My people: “You have scattered My flock, driven them away, and not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for the evil of your doings,” says the LORD.

Jer 23:4 I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,” says the LORD.

Purpose: To learn from Scripture how to distinguish a false shepherd from a true shepherd and to develop discernment in choosing a church that represents historical, biblical Christianity.

Urgent Warning to American Christians: A Ten Point Plan for regaining our freedom

Urgent Warning to American Christians:
A Ten
Point Plan for regaining our freedom

April 11, 2010 http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=414101215575

America is at a historic crossroads either we return to God’s foundation for freedom or we descent into Marxism. All across America freedom loving people are coming together in these Tea Party meetings to protest their outrage with our governmental leaders. People that have studied history know that America is moving with breakneck speed toward totalitarianism. Many people know that we are losing our freedoms however they do not know why we have lost them or how to regain them. There have been many common solutions to the problem that have been offered such as we need to audit the Feds and we must make our leaders return to a constitutional republic. And the states must regain their sovereignty by exercising their tenth amendment right. All of these ideas are good however none of them addresses the reason why we are in the worst time in American history when reference to loosing our freedoms and the only biblical solution to regain our freedom. Consequently, that is the express purpose of this message from God’s Word.

Pro 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people.

Purpose: To teach us from God’s Word how we got ourselves into such spiritual and economic evil in America and the solution to come out from under God’s judgment and once again understand that only righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.

Paul’s Logic on the Resurrection

Paul’s Logic on the Resurrection

4/4/10   Sermon Online

The resurrection of Christ is God’s logical, irrefutable, fundamental proof for all the claims of Christianity. Namely that Jesus is the promised Messiah (Isa.7:14), the God/man (John 1:1,14) the Son of God (John 3:16; Roms.1:4), Savior of His people (Matt.1:21), the coming Judge of all the world (Acts 17:31), the One who was victorious over Satan (IJn3:8; Heb.2:14), sin (Heb.9:26) and death (1Cor 15:26). And the One who promises life abundantly now (John 10:10) and eternal life with Him after death in a glorified resurrected body (John 11:25,26; 1Cor.15:50-57). As we will see in Paul’s logic there is no Christianity apart from the resurrection.

The Scriptures claim that, after Jesus died, He was resurrected on the third day by His Father. The apostles and New Testament Christians boldly based everything that they taught on the truthfulness of Christ resurrection.

Isa 43:25; John 17:4; James 2:10; Phil 2:8;
2Chron 6:36; Matt 20:28; Mark 10:45; Luke 22:44

All the false teachings concerning the Cross/work of Christ come from an unscriptural view of the nature of God. If one does not understand that God is sovereign, immutable, all knowing, holy, just, love, gracious, merciful, righteous, and a God of wrath then one will never understand the nature of the Cross/work of Christ. The nature of the cross is all about God in His sovereignty really displaying all His attributes for His glory. Christ said that He came to declare God and He did that most gloriously in His Cross/work.

Joh 1:18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

The apostle Paul in the book of Romans said that the Cross/work of Christ was a real display of God’s righteousness not a contrivance, i.e. a cleverly devised plan that took the place of righteousness.

Rom 3:26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Paul also spoke of the Cross/work as a real demonstration of God’s wrath.

Rom 9:22 What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction,

When our Lord looked into the cup of God’s wrath in the Garden of Gethsemane He was beholding the real wrath of God not a substitute of wrath. Christ was literally punished for all our sins as our legal substitute because that was the only way for God to literally display all His attributes for His literalglory. Joh 17:4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.

IS YOUR CHRIST A COUNTERFEIT?

IS YOUR CHRIST A COUNTERFEIT?

3/20/10

You might find that to be a rather strange question to ask someone “Is your Christ a counterfeit? However, there are many people that will burn in hell forever because they believed in a counterfeit Christ. Mat 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’

Mat 7:23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

What does your church teach about the Cross/work of Christ? Do they teach the Scriptural doctrine of Penal Substitution or do they assert that Christ death in and of itself did not accomplish your salvation? The churches that teach against the Biblical doctrine of Penal Substitution are teaching Satan’s lies. To believe in what is not true is sinful, evil and willful, defiant rebellion against the revealed Light of God’s Holy Word.

If God says that everything that He demanded to accomplish your salvation, that is expiation, propitiation, redemption, and reconciliation was perfectly carried out in Christ Cross/work alone and you willfully deny that revelation, then you are calling God a liar!

Let us not be guilty of blaspheming God’s Word by refusing to believe the testimony He has given to us concerning the Cross/work of His beloved Son.

1Jn 5:10 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.

Purpose: To learn from Scripture the true meaning of Christ Cross/work in contrast to the counterfeit Christ of Satan.

Christ Cross/Work actually saves His People from their Sins

Christ Cross/Work actually saves His People from their Sins

The biblical view teaches that Christ Cross/Work actually accomplished what it intended to do, which was to save His people from their sins.

Eph 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.

Eph 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

Luk 19:10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Mat 1:21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.
1Ti 1:15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.
